Savior Children Foundation

Orphanage and School - Kasoa, Ghana

In this region 43% of the population are illiterate.  Of the literate population only 37.0% can read and write in both English and a Ghanaian language.

About a third of the population in all districts have never been to school.

43.4% of females and 26.2% of males have never been to school.

Founder of the Savior Children Foundation, Patrick Nwodobeh believes that all children should be given the opportunity to receive an education.

Although there are many schools located in the Kasoa area it should be emphasized that many families just cannot afford to send their children to school.

He is now providing education to over 400 children in the Kasoa community.  Currently the school charges 1 cedi per day, or 30 cents (USD).  This only covers the cost of preparing and serving the lunch for the students.

All other expenses for the school, including building the school,  school improvements, teachers wages, teaching supplies, student supplies, etc... are all dependent on donations.

The school desperately needs text books for the students, computers, school supplies for the students (i.e. pencils, notebooks, etc..) and the creation of a library.
