Mary is an orphaned child who lost both of her parents at a young age. Her father was a fisherman who died at sea and her mother died in a tragic accident. After the loss of both parents, a family friend took Mary into her care but Mary's younger sister, Princess, was taken by another family to another town.

Mama Pat was the one who discovered the girls in Edobo. She first came across Mary in the street.  She was playing with Venice.  They were dirty and eating left over food.

After asking where her mother was, Mary explained that her mother was dead and took Mama Pat to a poorly old grandmother who was taking care of Venice and Mary. The old lady was the one who informed Mama Pat about the other sister Princess.

After asking around the town, they discovered Princess was being poorly looked after. They found Princess and brought all three children to the orphanage. The two girls had no idea that they were sisters and Patrick was the one to tell them. Mary remembered having a sister but had barely any recollection of her.

Now, the two girls get along very well but Mary spends more of her time with her best friends Grace and Rachael. She wants to be a teacher when she gets older and loves going to school. She is currently in class one and her favourite subject is Religious and Moral Education.

During break you will usually spy her with her friends playing ampe, her favourite game, which is a traditional girls playground activity that involves rhythmic jumping and clapping. She makes it look a lot easier to play than it is!
